Produce Announcement: HO Pennsylvania Railroad X23 boxcar from Funaro & Camerlengo
Funaro & Camerlengo’s new X23 kits reproduce Pennsylvania Railroad’s first standard for a 40-foot boxcar with steel framing. The road’s shops turned out a group X23s in late 1912, with commercial car builders going to produce nearly 7,000 examples. The kit includes a one-piece body, decals, and sells for $59.99. Funaro & Camerlengo’s Pennsylvania Railroad X23 boxcar model comes in two styles. The 8530 kit (shown at left) includes Youngstown sliding door design, while the line’s 8531 comes with Car Builders’ doors (shown below). Both versions of this HO kit include round roof with horizontal boards, and booted ribs.
