Product Announcement: HO Athearn GP60s with sound-ready feature
Athearn announces a new production of its HO-scale GP60 with delivery expected by the end of 2024. The group includes BNSF (patched Santa Fe), Cotton Belt, Delaware & Hudson (Legendary Liveries series), Locomotive Leasing Partners (originally EMD demonstrator units), Norfolk Southern, Santa Fe, Texas Mexican Railway, and Union Pacific (repainted Southern Pacific units, illustration shown above). Most road names include two road numbers with Cotton Belt and Santa Fe GP60s coming in three numbers. The models will include a variety of added details to help them represent the prototypes they are depicting. The standard DC GP60 ($179.99) will include come with a 21-pin socket on its board and factory-installed speaker for easy conversion to DCC. Athearn’s DCC-sound GP60 ($249.99) will include SoundTraxx Econmai Sound. The “Primed For Grime” BNSF unit will retail for $189.99 (DC) and $259.99 (DCC).
